Another Header question
This probably has been covered already but i haven't run across it and can't come up with what i need in a search. I'm installing a set of pacesetter headers this weekend with an off road y-pipe. Since this came with absolutely no instructions i'm not sure how the y-pipe is supposed to connect to the intermediate pipe. I assume i have to cut the stock flange off my hooker cat back because i beleive it goes down to 2.75" (correct?) and then remove the i-pipe and have it expanded to slide over the y-pipe. Then use a band clamp over it. If this is the case i'm going to start tomorrow instead of saturday so an exhaust shop will be open so i can have the pipe expanded and not have my car out of commission for the whole weekend.
Someone told me the y-pipe slides into the I-pipe, but i can't understand how that would work considering the stock i-pipe opening is 2.75" and the y-pipe is 3".
