Thumbs up Another exhaust question...

Hey guys-
I've ordered my LT-1 383 shortblock from Nu-Tek, and will hopefully be shopping for headers soon. My main question is exhaust sound- I want something that sounds very deep, and shows off my cam. I don't want a straight-pipe sound, or "glasspack" sound. I will probably upgrade to a hi-flo cat, and I will also TIG weld my factory chromed tailpipes to the system.
I like Flowmaster, but I know they rust over time.
I heard a really NICE Flowmaster setup on a new Stang with a dropped in 351 with Hooker Headers and stock cats. It literally rumbled the ground as it sat there and idled. Thats what kind of sound I'm looking for.
I'm not real familiar with the other brands out there, but have read some discussions on different brands used on different set-ups and would appreciate anyones opinions.

IMHO getting new exhaust is guesswork

it may sound good on one car and sound completely differently on another (especially going from a ford to SBC type comparison)

so I wouldn't rely too much on what people post , I have a dynomax on my car and it sounds very differently than a friends car did with the same exhaust , he had a 350 and I had a 305, heck I swapped 305's for another more powerful 305 and the note changed as well...

guess you could compare them on stock cars , but msot of the cars on this board are definitely not stock , LOL

Thanks, Zrout-

I agree with what your saying..but I'm hoping to get a *general* feedback idea on a deep-sounding exhaust system/setup that parallels what I'll be doing with my car. I know it may change from car to car some, but it shouldn't be night and day. Compression has alot to do with the sound, as well as what size tubes and pipes are used.
Thanks for the feedback irregardless.
