Another complex overheating lt1

1996 chevrolet Camaroz28 LT-1 6 speed
well this is my last resort, i'm running around 230-240* in town and about 230 on the highway sometimes lil bit higher, it has boiled over once on the way to work, never did this in the winter, ran a little bit hot last summer but not very bad i just thought it was normal,

-have flushed radiator/cooling system
-did a leakdown test on the cooling system (passed)
-checked water pump to see if the impeller was free spinning on the shaft(turns like new)
-pulled radiator out and flushed it, not a bit of corrosion in it clear as can be
-checked for trash/debri infront & behind condensor
-checked my thermostat it was working correctly but i replaced it anyways with factory 180*
-installed new coolant temp sensor
-hooked 12v up to each fan to test motor (passed)
-checked relays, good, fans come on
-when i had the waterpump off i tried flushing water through the block and it seemed to flow fine, no corrosion on the water pump mounting surface/ports
-checked upper and lower radiator hoses and theres nothing blocking them (not that there should be)

i bought a new temperature sending unit (for the guage) from work but hav'nt installed it yet.

i know there are tons of posts on this subject but i have literally tried everything out there and i cant figure this one out. If anyone has any suggestions please let me know im going to be changing the temp sending unit tomorrow after noon and will post results

thanks for any help anyone has to offer

by the way besides the cags skip shift delete and a cutout this car is bone stock

Re: Another complex overheating lt1

Sounds like my overheating problem, turned out that the water pump drive shaft gear is stripped and the pump is not turning. It started running hot then finally failed altogether and the pump is not turning at all. Take the water pump cover off with the pump still on the car. If you can turn the impeller with you finger the shaft gear/timing gear is bad. You can also check to see if the gears will turn it at all by pulling the PCM fuse and have an assistant crank the engine while watching the impeller. I tried everything you did and then I though of the drive shaft which was verified by another member here. A search about the shaft revealed quite a few others with the same problem. I'll try and post a pic once I get the timing cover off.
