another car wont start

Well I have a 94 Z28 and just a few days ago I went out to start my car after it had sat for 2 days and it wouldnt start it cranked but wouldn't start it was also raining. the next day I went out and it started but I had to crank it for ever and now over the last few days if it is hot and dry it will start with some work but if it is cold or wet it wount fire up there was some presure at the fuel rail but I have no meature to check exactly what presure I have. The pump primes when I turn the key to run so now I'm stummped WTF could it be the coil or the distributer module under the coil I have also just changed plugs and wires about 2000 miles ago

Thanks in advance

Sounds to me like your opti is going south. If it was the coil I doubt temp and moisture would change anything. How many miles are on your optispark now? Is it still the orginal?

Yes it is the original and it has 127,000 miles on it
I also just checked the fuel pressure and it was at 41 psi and took two minutes to drop to 39 psi so I guess it isnt the fuel pump so now what I guess check spark?????

That would be the next thing that I would check. Generally optisparks, especially non vented like yours are affected by moisture. At 13 years and 127K miles, its very likely that its is just about toast.

Did it spark more frequently once it started? Its possible it didn't spark right away if that cylinder was last in the firing order.

It wouldn't hurt to check over all your wires for any damage and tight connections. Also, look over the coil wire and the coil itself.

Well I just checked the number 1 cylender to and it looked some what wet and smelled of gas but it sparked after the first two turns also the coil looked ok and I checked all my plugs and wires (except #2 its a b**ch) so now what????? Should I try some starting spray in the tb and see what that does Im starting to think it is the cap and rotor but I would be much happier if it were not

I wouldn't spray any start spray, its not going to fix the problem. If I were you I would pick up an aftermarkt coil (MSD, Accell, etc.) from your local autozone or whatever you have around. Should only be $30-40 and would be cheaper than an opti. It probably has nothing to do with the coil, however im sure the stock coil is plenty tired by now and you might get lucky and fix the problem. Im thinking its probably your opti going out though...

Well now I went and tried to start it now that it has wrmed up and the humidity is down and it statred to back fire when cranking so Im sure that it is the opti now so which opti is the best for the money is ACCEL good or should I just go w/ a factory I know MSD is good but with my lightly moded car would it be worth it ???

Yea my car is doing the same thing during starting...I have a new accel coil so i dont think that is your problem but a new one wont hurt, I got mine from advance auto with plugs n wires.
Dont mean to thread steal but is your car running really rich when it does start? Mine is...can smell gas, have black on rear bumper, and im avg like 5mpg lol was wondering if it was what you might have and a opti can fix both of my problems. Thanks

No when my car was running it wasnt runing too rich mabee a little but not much but now Ive talked to three different people that have delt with many LT1s and they said w/ my symptoms it would deffenently be my Opti and I would also want to get a new cap and rotor as well as a new water pump hope that can help. Keep me posted on how yours goes.

check ur battery posts, i had one that had tons of corrosion on it, and it was a PITA to start. Clean it off with baking soda and water if u have a bad battery post.
