Question Amsoil

What's everyone's opinion on AMSIOL? I just switched over to it and was wondering how it compared to others. Obviously the sales and there website rate them #1 over other synthetic products, but I was just wondering what everyone else thought. Price really isn't a factor to me, I'm able to get it for basically cost.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Amsoil

I sell it and use it so I can extend oil changes to 6000 miles in my truck, my wife's durango and the camaro. All of the commercial Exmark hydro driven mowers I sell come with Mobil 1 in the hydro system. The break down temperature is over 200 degrees higher than conventional oils and has virtually eliminated failures.

The only problem synthetics have is putting them in some older cars that have not been run on synthetics. They can leak like screen doors on a submarine. If you start early on with it, you will not have the problem. The camaro I got in 2001 was switched to it with no problem though.

I understand synthetics don't have the problems previously thought on break-in since both the Vette and the Viper come from the factory with Mobil 1.

Re: Amsoil

If you want to know what the best oil for any car is go here and post some questions and do some research, www.bobistheoilguy.com on the left a bit of the ways down is a link that says forum. Believe it or not the last time I was posting there the Castrol GERMAN Syntec 0w30 was kickin *** in the LT1 so after my auto rx interval and cleansing period Im throwing that in with a K&N 3002 filter. You would think that is was too thin but its not, its actually a heavy 30 weight, just check it out theres an overwhelming amount of good info to help you put aside the hype and figure out what really is worth putting in the crankcase.
