Unhappy Alternator Brackets

Hey i have a 94 trans Am and just installed a set of Tall valve covers but the alternator wouldn't fit. Some one told me to get a bracket to place the alternator where the EGR was. Any body know about it or where to find it? Any other solutions?

Re: Alternator Brackets

You can grind down the back of the alternator to make it fit........but there is no way in heck you are gonna get the alternator where the egr is...lol. There is a way to relocate the alternator, but to my knowledge you will lose your ac and the brackets are like 200 bucks. Grinding the alternator is the simplest, cheapest, easiest thing you can do. lemme do a quick search and I may be able to pull up some directions to the grinding method.

There is a bracket that allows you to keep your AC and your power steering. It is about $200. I believe he was talking about the AIR not EGR.

Here is the thread that shows how to do the grinding method.
Yea I agree whoever told you about the relocation must have been talking about the air not the egr.
