Re: alternator

It's just held down by 3 bolts. Not very hard to do. Just remember to disconnect the wire to the alt so you don't rip it off. You'll of course have to release the tensioner at the bottom of the engine to get the belt. Not very hard to do. Maybe shoebox has it on his webpage but I doubt since it's very basic in nature.

Re: alternator

yea not hard at all, disconnect your battery, disconnect the terminal on the back of the alternator, disconnect the harness, 3 (14mm?) bolts and the belt.

Re: alternator

I think they are 13 mm bolts....very easy indeed though like everyone else has stated. I didnt see it mentioned, but disconnect the postive cable going from the battery to the alternator also.

Edit: looks like sneakin deacon did mention the cable (terminal) on back of alternator...guess I just read it wrong.

Re: alternator

Like they said above. First take off the belt and disconnect the battery (if you don't unhook the battery you'll be welding in a minute....lol---i hate when i forget to unhook the baterry) Then remove the positive cable from the back....it's either a 6mm or a 7mm i believe it's the 7mm. It's covered by a rubber cover. There is also another connector back there.....it's just a plug in connector type on the back near the bottom. Then there will be 3 13mm bolts to remove. Then just pull it out.

Disconnect the battery!!! So you don't fry the lead wire on the back of the ALT....

Re: alternator

also when you go to reinstall it dont go tightening the heck out of the nut that holds the battery lead on or you'll end up breaking it and then you'll be buying another alternator
