Give it some time man... A lot of the people use the composite lt4 covers or on ebay there are polished ones i guess, don't know if those would clear, i'm runing stockers with my pro mags, just have to bend the supports flat.

Re: Alternative Valve Covers For LT1?

you CAN run polished aluminum covers, but you must first grind a little section off the back of the alternator for clearence.

the first pic shows where it will hit. you need to cut it away, being careful not to damage the exciter connection and board behind the little "air vents" on the back of the alt. i don't have a camera to show you, but i can email you a pic if you give me your address.

They sell valvecovers on ebay just like the ones DJlunchbox has but they have a notch cut out for the alternator. I have them on my car and am very pleased with them as they ran me just over 100 shipped. You will have to cut out or grind the baffles on them to clear your pro mags though.

I'm going to go with some Proform crinkles.

jegs.com, they're the jegs brand. like 89.99. if you can get the notched covers like the other guy said, get those. it'll be easier. i had to run a breather on the drivers side, as well as a plug, fyi. i will try to get pics tonight for you.

Here are the ones i have. You can see that they'll give you plenty of room for the alternator.
