Alright, so what kind of engine coolant do you use?
I got some services done on my car and noticed on my receipt as well as the coolant itself that they used some red stuff. Now of course in the manual it says that you should only use DEX-COOL orange fluid that's GM approved.
I called them back and they said that the red stuff they use is universal on all GM cars and its just fine and that any chevy dealer would say this red stuff is alright and they use it as well.
What's everyone's say on this?

Some people talk about Dex-cool causing clogs....The reason for this is the anti leak agent they add when they put it in your car.
This shouldn't be a problem though if you change it every 60,000 miles. Much longer and you could have some problems.
I changed it at 72,000 and it caused me to lose my low coolent sensor...a very common problem becuase of the reason above. The "green coolent" needs to be changed something like every 15,000.
In all other respects, DEXCOOL should be equal or superior to the "geen stuff".
