For all OBD1 cars

I will do the OBD1 conversion for my 97 Z28. What all did you about misfire detection?? As you know OBD1 can't read misfires. If you something is wrong about your plugs /wires. scan tools can't see that and how can you solve this problem??

Your gonna have to troubleshoot it your self. The factory missfire detection is not the greatest anyway. I've seen many times where it was off by a cylinder or two.

Re: For all OBD1 cars

Misfires should not be "common". It may be a frequent problem, due to plug, wire, etc. issues., but those of us running OBD-I seem to survive. There's no way to run misfire detection in OBD-I. The PCM isn't designed to handle it.

What advantage do you feel you are getting by swithcing to ODB-I?

It is way cheaper than OBD2 to get scanner and tuner. Thats not the real reason tough. I saw lots of high performance cars switch to OBD1. Thats because easier tune by email orders.

Don't you agree with me?
