Are all M6's the same?

I am building my buddy's 94 Z28 for him. His M6 is toast. I can get one out of a wrecked 00 SS. Are they the same bolt pattern etc and all the plugs the same?

Thanks,
Tyler

AFAIK this wont work because the slave system is setup different...it is internal I believe, as opposed to the 93-97 external slave cylinder.

like Dave said it would have to be from a 93-97 unless you also want to change the input shaft.

Dont forget 2 different versions were offered in 93, the M28 and the M29, and both are different from the 94-97 T56. 93's have higher gearing, ie. should be faster BUT have a lower torque handling capacity. I believe its 400 ft/lbs as opposed to 450 ft/lbs.

As stated, the 98 + cars use an internal slave hub type actuator (it acts directly on the release bearing) and the LT1 cars used a conventional slave cylinder with an actuating fork.
The end plate (piece that the shafts mount to) is different between the 2 types.
I didn't know that the input shafts were different.
