There are also two different 94-97 intake designs. The ports are much different on the later intakes.

93 has to be different because in 94-97 the oil pressure sensor is on the back of the intake manifold...

It screws into the block, not the intake.

Exactly.. I can't beleive how many people think the Oil pressure sending unit is in the intake. Just think about it ..how could you get a reading on oil pressure from the intake when there are no oil passages and no oil in the intake??? It's in the block behind the intake and has nothing to do with the intake design.

The early intakes have symetrical ports, the later ones do not.

I gotta agree with Daren. The later intakes more closely (improved) match up to the port shape in the LT1 heads. The original LT1 head/intake matchup was a screwup. It wasn't their first, and don't expect it to be their last. I find it a mild surprice they actually allocated the funds for the change. But then again, the change was about the time the LT4 intake cast was made. (The later LT1 intake is a whole lot closer to the LT4 intake than many realize). My guess is, they (GM) would not have bothered with the change had the LT4 intake not become a reality.

.. differences between the 2 are unknown to me but i have looked into this and people told me they are the same. i sure as fck hope they are the same!! i put a 95 intake on my 97 heads.
You are stating you put it together without noticing/checking port alignment?

The diff is pretty obvious. My guess is that you'd have noticed it, if it were diff from the head ports.

Well, I know that the 93z's were not sequential injection. That started in 94. So their is a difference.

That just has to do with how the computer is programed to fire the injectors, Not the physical part of the manifold.
