AirLid for lt1?

who has done this and the major question that i have is where did you get the bellow to go from the throttle body to the mass air flow. the only way i can think of getting one is to get one off of a 96-97 WS6 but i can not find any used and cant find anywhere i can buy one. if any one has any info it would be great.

I'm kind of cofused. LS1 cars have lids, not LT1s. If you have a LS1 and want smooth billow you can get one from SLP or make your own by going to Lowes and buying a 3inch piece of rubber tubing.

If you have a LT1 car, I assume you have a ram air set up? You can try to fabricate your own intake tube by going to Lowes which I mentioned in the previous paragraph, or you can go down to your local Pontiac dealer and order the part youre in need of.

yes i have an lt1 car and yes i have seen a few cars on the net with an ls1 lid on them. but the only part i was looking for help finding was the bellow that goes from the oval throttle body to the round maf. i was hoping i would not have to go to the dealer but maybe so.

I don't see how an LS1 lid would fit on an LT1 car since the area where the lid would sit on an LS1 and LT1 are completely different.

As far as the bellows go, you can use turbo tubing or get a 3.5 inch to 4 inch plumbing connector and use that (the maf should be 3.5 inches), or as mentioned earlier you can get the correct part from Pontiac.

Are you confusing the LT1 WS-6 style of filter in the front with an LS1 intake lid design?? If not, then you need a diff hood to make sure the LS1 Lid will fit. I believe thats how some do it bacause it wont fit with an LT1 hood. As far as the part you need, I'm not really sure.

No ones questioning your knowledge, the're just trying to clarify what you're talking about so they can help you better. I would try Home Depot or Lowes as mentioned above.

What type of hood do you have?

You can just use the fernco pipe or one of those wide silcon rubber band things like the ones that come with CAI kits.

To use the LS1 lid intake with an LT1 car, you will need the lid, radiator shroud, and a hood that will clear it, such as doing an LS1 front end swap. An LT1 hood will not clear that setup.

Which hood has space for the Lid? the LT-1 Ws-6 in your link or the LS-1 style WS-6 hood on the car in these links?

In the original link it appears the stock hood is removed with the lid on b/c it doesn't fit. You never see both the stock hood and Lid on the car at the same time. These links shows the lid with the LS1 hood.
