AIR pump removel?
AIR pump removel?
Im getting a set of BBK ceramic street legals for my car. My cat is going to be hollow but still there. Should I get another AIR hose and re-install it, or should I take it off? I do plan on keeping the stock manifolds/y-pipe if a Cat, to change in incase I have problems with emissions.(me? Never?) So if i remove the system, i want to know how to plug up the hole in the back of my manifold so It can easy be replace.

Re: AIR pump removel?
I was having trouble with mine recently and it was setting codes and the SES light all the time, constant open loop.
Anyway, if the option is there to hook it back up do it. It dosen't rob any horse power and will keep the O2s happy, unless you have sims the O2 sensors will go nutty. Also if your ever thinking about putting a cat back on there you'll need it for sure, a cat won't last long with out the AIR pump.

Alot of people will say go to NAPA, but I have not found one yet to carry that size. I just put 5 pennies inside the hole sealed it with rvt cooper and keep the AIR tube on untill I can a hardware store that carries this size plug.
