Air pump delete plug sizes..

I have a 96 camaro and am doing the air pump delete.I bought m18 plugs but they are too small yet read they are the correct size for my car.Apparently not.I also read about the m22 plugs but thought it was for earlier pre 96 cars.Maybe someone has them backwards..maybe the m22 are for the 96 and m18 are pre 96.Anyone know for sure.Or should I be buying a non metric bolt for my 96 car.Want to finish this up today.

Thanks guys.

I cant tell you exactly what the size is but i know what it is not which is M22... that is to large. I actually had some of mine custom made at a high school machine shop in about 5 minutes b/c I was tired of looking for the correct size.

Well I can buy m20 size also and have several bolt supply places near me just that car is parked with the water pump thing and didn't feel like driving it with two open holes in the exhaust manifolds.

so why dont you just take the AIR fittings that were in place and go find the correct size plug?

or save yourself some money by just welding a plug into the stock AIR fittings and screwing them back in.

I found some cool caps that fit on the stock fittings the bottom part .The m18 were sloppy and the m22 were too big and even the m20 I think were wrong thread. The 96 fittings are metric on bottom and sae I think the guy said at top.Got the fittings from a place that sells special hydraulic stuff. They look good but dont' have a digital cam..sorry..
