Air pump delete??

Is there any way of taking this crap off without the check engine light coming on? I just want to clean up the engine bay as much as possible. Im thinking about just taking all the hoses off, blocking the exhaust tubes and just keeping the air pump plugged in.

After you strip all the hardware of the engine and plug the manifolds you will need a custom tune from www.madz28.com or www.pcmforless.com
You can select to siasble the AIR pump as well as the EGR and you wont get SES lights.
There is absolutely no power gain from this, it will save some poundage but thats all.
Simple as that

OBDI cars don't need any tuning. Just remove the pump but leave the fuse in. Works fine and no SES.

Re: Air pump delete??

I remember a whle back someone said you could get a resistor and jump it across two of the wires in the electrical connector and that also would prevent a SES light without a tune. I dont remember how many Ohm's it was though.

Also, I remember Shoebox saying a while back that while removing the air pump cleaned up the engine bay, it was totally and absolutly pointless to disconnect the EGR as it actually had some positive benefits?

Re: Air pump delete??

No resistor or anything else is needed if it's OBDI. I did it trust me.
