I've been getting an Air Pump Circuit code for a month or so. I finally checked the fuse and it was popped. I replaced it and drove to town and back. Before I could get to town the light was on, so I checked it. It was popped again. What would keep popping it? I can't find a short in the wiring. If the pump is and electric pump would it going bad cause it to draw to much juice and pop the 20 amp fuse?

 

Yep pumps bad, if you decide to replace it be sure to replace the two check valves (they are on top of both exhaust manifolds). If you dont want to replace the pump simply unplug it (easiest to get to from the bottom, its on the drivers side), unplug the pump and put a new fuse in and it wont throw a code anymore (assuming you're talking about the 95 in your sig)

 

Will I need to unhook the line from the intake tubing, or just leave it? The check valves are small disk shaped pieces with a tube on either side, right?

 

There's a recall on the '95 AIR. Have you had it done?

 

I just unplugged mine but it would be a good idea to unhook it from the intake and plug the hole, yes the check valves are the disk shaped peices with a tube on each side. you can see a picture here.

When I first got my car I contacted GM and they took my Vin number then said that there was no Recalls on it. I assumed that it had been done already. Could I look and see if it had been done? If it hasn't I doubt that they'd do it now since it's 10 years old.

 

I don't know anything about the nature of the recalls, you'd have to ask someone like shoebox or injuneer. sorry

 

I don't know how to tell if it's been done. I ignored my recall notice. they stopped sending it after a few years.
Like said, just unplug it and keep a good fuse installed. It won't throw a code.

 

just eliminate it. rip it all out....save weight and gain power.
