Air foil question? just got it as a b-day gift

My friends know me well, they give me car parts as B-day gifts. I got fix-a-flat since I removed my spare, I got a Jet airfoil, and a pepboys gift certificate.

The package for the airfoil states a 14hp increase and shows a dyno of a 92 LT1 (vette). Are they serious? I've read the it was closer to 3-5 hp if not less, either way I didn't pay for it. I installed it tonight but didn't drive the car yet I guess we'll see tomorrow.

under hard acceleration I think there would be at least some improvement, whether it would show up on the dyno or not

Don't expect any gain at all from one. I could see there being a small amount of gain in a heavily modded motor that was still running the stock TB for some reason.

Either sell it or install it. It won't hurt performance at all. The concept is fine, and all aftermarket TB's have a built in airfoil, but in practice they don't really do much.

The only difference you MIGHT notice is throttle reponse, but no real HP gains.

See sig. I attribute my 110MPH trap entirely to the Airfoil.

The Headers and cam are purely cosmetic mods....

Dude it looks like you are in serious need for some traction, you will certainly be in the 12's.

I'm sitting on BFG Comp TA VR4 tires right now. I'm running P275/50VR16 on a 8" wide rim also

I don't want to throw anythng stickier on there for fear of making oatmeal out of my 10 bolt

So yeah, they just spin, spin, and spin some more

Your friends are much cooler than mine. Heh, I'll prolly get a type R sticker from mine

It's not going to hurt anything and price was right. The center portion of the TB is flat and when you install it, it will be contoured. Anything that helps airflow has to help.

Damn johnpsz, you ran a 13.3@103 with just those mods? What was your time bone stock? Sounds to me like the 2.73's are the way to go for an A4 over the 3.23's.
