AIR check valve and SS air box
AIR check valve and SS air box
For reason to numerous to go into, my 97 Camaro SS has been sitting for several years without an engine. Several weeks ago I purchased a used LT1. I got the motor installed and have it running. When I tried to install the SS airbox I ran into a problem with the driver's side AIR check valve. The valve sits too high and I cant get the airbox in place. The motor is out of a 96 Camaro or Firebird. Were there different types of valves? It seems like the pipe that comes out of the manifold is too tall. Can I cut the pipe shorter so the valve sits lower? I don't really remember what the one on my original LT1 looked like. Not really sure what to do here.
