do i have to do anything special to take the steering wheel off without blowing the air bag? the bracket that holds the lever for the cruise control broke so I need to take off the steering wheel to replace the bracket.

 

I've pulled several air bags and the only thing I do is disconnect the battery and remove the S.I.R fuse. I haven't had one go off on me yet, just be careful of static electricity though.
