AI 200 cc start up vid

Finally got everything buttoned up. An alignment is needed after the UMI k-member, upper and lower control arms.
Looks like for me the first race date will be 03 July. I'll be in Canada, Chicago and England in June with only 6 days home in June so getting any type of mileage/break-in will be hard to do. I guess I would rather break in the Dana 60 more so than the motor. Hopefully I'll get in 500 miles before 03 July. I just need a dyno tune to get it dialed in perfect. Won't be time for that.........

Thanks, that was my daily cam fix. I was starting to get a little jumpy and wondered why. I looked at the clock and said damn, look at the time, I need a fix. Sounds sweet and I'm all better now.

After all the little problems I had getting the entire car together , I was practically doing back flips. I was suppose to start it last night. After buttoning up little odds and ends, I got the camera out, dragged the wife out to start it and this is what happened:

Battery with only 7 volts. I was surprised it had the ***** to turn it over and the MSD wouldn't have liked it anyhow without 12 volts. This thing is cranking out 12.4:1 for a static compression.
The night before, I couldn't get the rear brakes to bleed after the ABS delete. It just seemed like I couldn't ever get the car done.
Tonite while driving the car back into the garage I thought I had problems. It took a lot of gas pedal to get the car moving. Turns out the linelock works pretty good. My 2 year old daughter was in the car with me and of course she has to touch everything. Here I was worried if it work cause I couldn't hear the solenoid "click" unlike my Painless alternator kill switch.

Congrats on the heads man, I have the same ones those guys do one heck of a job. Doesnt look like your burning any oil but I will just say I was originally losing about 1qt per 100 miles thru the rocker stud threads since a couple of the bottoms are open to the intake after porting. Haha I though it was rings then took the rocker studs out and saw oil all over the threads.

Long story short, seal them good or you'll almost have a heart attack like I did. Now I only use about 1qt per 3000 miles.

Dwayne, you working on the wifes Impala?
I just got it into the alignment shop, literally minutes ago. I had to ride my bike and now my *** is sore!
They may have it done today still. If not , for sure Monday.
I have no clue or indication on how it drove since the roads were soaked from the passing thunder storm. It was still spinning tires from a stop.

Not yet. I felt like smashing it with a hammer a few times during the build process, though

Sounds damn good! Who did you decide to do the tune on it?

I know how it is, with just getting it back together and some kind of problem, always seems to creap up and bite you square in the ***..

I had Ion do the base tune. I was trying to get him to Speed Inc for the chassis dyno last year but I had trouble getting the car together in time and he wasn't doing anymore tuning for the year so I didn't rush it. I need to get ahold of him now ad see if he could help me out.
My biggest problem was I kept buying stuff and had to tear it apart to install this or that. I also had no oil on the top end . I installed some Morels and had some notching to do on the crank scraper in the Canton so that is why I pulled the motor the second time. I clearanced the scraper with the pan on the gasket. What I should have done was torque the gasket. That little bit scraped ever so slight.
This time around was my worst build. I struggled so much this time around. I forgot half the little tricks to go about installing stuff, instead doing it the hard way. Plus, I installed a new umi k-member with adj. upper and lower arms, a new Dana and their 3" chromoly shaft. New shocks and drag springs. Relocated the battery to the back. Installed the shut off switch with the alt. kill solenoid. New brakes, ABS delete and line lock. Deleted ALL a/c components and modified the firewall so I could use the heat functions so I will at least have defrost. I essentially had everything off the car at some point in time.

I'll be in Canada till then. The following week I'll be in Elgin, which if I had a way to tow the car, would work. I'll be there thru Monday the 15 th. Then the 20 th of June I will be in England till the 29th. My plate is a little full.
Work always seems to get in the way of fun!
