aftermarket shifters: whats the best?

hey i am thinking about getting a pro 5.0 for Christmas, but i was wondering if the actually stick part of the shifter is longer than stock...i saw some pictures of this guys hurst, and it looked like the stick was out of my dads s10, it was pretty long, and i dont want that..and i was just wondering if the pro 5.0 is like that, and what the best shifter is for our cars

I have the Pro-5.0 (name sux but oh well) and I like it quite a bit.
It is a BIG improvement over the stock shifter, shifts are more firm and I haven't grinded/missed a shift since. Made me wanna drive the car more
I cut off about 1" from the shifter (don't worry there is enough thread on there).
Pro-5.0 =

Cool

I have never seen a bad word on the Pro 5.0. B&M Ripper is another fine choice. Same can be said for it.

thanks guys for all your replys, so where is a good place to get a pro 5.0 at? the cheapest place? and about the sticks, so are they longer than the stock ones, and if so how much of the thread can you cut off and still be safe? and is there other sticks that you can by to replace the long ones? i just want a good shifter with a short stick... and thanks for all the replys guys!

Kirban quick stick. I have diven cars with the Pro5.0, Hurst, Stock, and Kirban. The Kirban is the smoothest shifter I have seen for our cars.
