Aftermarket Air Intake for LT1

I'm going to have to drive my 97SS as my daily driver for awhile due to a pending divorce; I previously cut the baffle out of the hood scoop for better airflow but this allows water to pass in to the throttle body if it rains (this car has never been driven in rain). I want to purchase an aftermarket intake system; what works the best for everyone? With the hood scoop now being open I'll get cool air to blow on the engine compartment; which is a good thing.

Thanks in advance.....

Re: Aftermarket Air Intake for LT1

Uhm, how is the water getting into the TB through the 360° bend in the intake track? I'm sure even if it does rain, very little if any will make it to the TB. Now if you had a WS6 setup, that's a different story.

As for what CAI works best; just do a search, this is asked about once a week, and there are literially 100's of threads on this subject.

I don't have time to do searches due to not having the internet at home; they get pissed here at work if we are messing around on the internet too much....

The SLP sounds good; anybody know a price??

I like my K&N CAI just fine. I've had it since 1999, no complaints here

Uhm... the red cross bar on this page, theres a tab called search; click on there and type "CAI"; you'll find more info than you'll ever need.

Re: Aftermarket Air Intake for LT1

I removed the baffle on my 97 years ago and have had absolutely NO problems in the rain. And mine is a daily driver.

Did you see any gains from that at all?
The ram air on my hawk seems so restrictive.
