getting ready to put everything back after bending a pushrod, breaking a push rod and breaking a comp r. So far I have found all of the lifter still in the valley but im missing a small piece of the push rod. If I find the piece when I drain the oil am I safe to put everything back with the new parts? What are the chances it hit something in the rotating assembly on its way down? If I dont find the piece, I know it cant get by the screen on the oil pick up but I guess Ill have to pull the pan to be safe (something I hate doing).
Any thing else I should be doing before putting the topend back up?
