AFS wheels

i was looking on ebay, and came across the afs wheels. Polished zr1 replicas. They have them for the 84-87 vette and no one seems to be bidding on them. It says that they fit the vettes and firebird , not camaros.

"THESE WHEELS ARE CUSTOM MADE FOR THE 1984-1987 CORVETTE! These wheels are a direct bolt on. No spacers or adapters are needed! They also fit on the 1993-2003 Trans Am or Firebird! Please note that this is NOT the correct offset for the Camaro."

"All four rims are 17" x 9.5"+38mm offset (6.7 inch backspacing). They are 5-lug (5x120.65mm)."

I thought that camaros and firebirds used the same wheels

Anyone have any idea as whats going on, or a reason as to why they "dont fit camaros" but fit firebirds

just seems kind of odd to me that they would fit the firebird...and not the camaro...almost too odd

17" x 9.5" (+56mm, 7.4 backspace <= Camaro)
17"x 11" (+50mm, 7.93" backspace <= Camaro)

+38mm, 6.7 backspace <= what you're lookin at

I'd be cautious about AFS Wheels advertisings. The rims are awsome but they say "No work required direct fit" sometimes and you actually do need to do work to make them fit.

Dude just bid on the correct offset. They have them just make sure you read before you bid. I did not and bidded on the wrong offset and had to beg them to swap them for the right offset. I had to wait two weeks then they still sent the wrong offset. I had to send them back for the right ones... just a mess but I finally got the right ones.

4th Gen Camaros and Firebirds have the EXACT offset. It's physically impossible for them to have different offsets.

True... but the offset that AFS sells that he is talking about is for covertible Trans AMs and the vettes. But they do make the correct offset that he is looking for.

i know that they do make the correct offset, these wheels caught my attention because of the price, and when i got reading them, it was very confusing that it would fit the trans am, and not the camaro. Ive heard stories on here about things "not fitting" convertibles or what not, and actually fitting.

Thats why I bidded and got them for the price of $475 shipped. But Like I said before I went through a hassle of getting the right offset.

Those are the ZR1 offset wheels, which WILL fit a Firebird. They will end up being flush with the fenders or maybe sticking out 1/4", but will work just fine with stock ride height or slighly lowered (SLP Eibachs, etc). I had the ZR1 offset of my 95 Formula and they were great. They will also fit on a Camaro, but will probably end up sticking 1/2"-3/4" outside the fenders. The GS offset is what you want for a Camaro as the fenders don't come out as far, HOWEVER you may have to massage the inner fender to get an 11" GS wheels to fit on ANY f-body. And yes, you can use the GS offset just fine on a Firebird as well.
