advice on y pipe to catback connection
Nomatter how much I search the forum I cannot find a direct answer on this
If you connect a Pacesetter Y pipe to a 3" catback How are you holding this together? Is the Y made slide over the I pipe without modification? Vise Versa? Expand the I pipe, and use steped band clamp? Butt them together and use a butt band clamp? |

Re: advice on y pipe to catback connection
This is the only part that pissed me off all to @%#$ when I installed my pacesetter longtubes. The ORY was 3" and my catback (hooker cat back ) was 3" ( note: they do not "slide" into each other, despite the assurances from the reps. at pacesetter ). I ended up taking off the catback and took it to an exhaust shop, and they cut it down and clamped it to the ORY after welding a slightly bigger adapter to the catback. Good luck!

Re: advice on y pipe to catback connection
I had to expand a pipe (I think it was the y-pipe actually) and used a stepped band clamp.

3" Ball and Socket flange so that you can break it down if you have to work on anything. Makes life nice and also allows for some adjustability.
