i bought a set of 210 AFR's and the valvecovers he had on um but there not centerbolts, there tall valvecovers with 4 outside bolts, so they wont work with the alternator and the heads dont have holes for the center bolts so what can i do?

 

When most people go with larger VC's, they simply take a chunk out for the alternator, and then weld in a section to fill it in. I bought some aluminum VC's that this had been done to, and they are just fine. Hope this helps.

 

They make an adaptor to go from center to perimeter-bolt and it may very well work in the reverse.... don't know, but it's a spendy option.

White Knight's suggestion is probably the least expensive. If you (or someone) can lop the end off at a some angle, then weld a plate on, that'd work. Just keep the heat down so you don't warp the cover. Might work for cast aluminum.... dunno about stamped steel.

You could always convert them over to perimeter style with some welding. It wasn't very expensive to have done (under 50 bucks).

Neither of these do NOT allow you to use a center-bolt valve cover on a perimeter-bolt head.

you know what i think im gonna do.. the valvecover gasket i have for my centerbolt valvecovers is a perimeter bolt cork gasket. ill just drill bolt holes in my centerbolt covers so it will bolt to the perimeter studs and maybe cut the center bolts and weld them to the valve cover to seal the center holes..
