Adjusting rockers while running

Hello, Did a search, didnt find specifics. I have the CC pro mags NSA. Seems like i have a tap on my driver side valve cover, different from the rest. What i need to know is,can you adjust the rockers while running and what should i expect when i start the engine with the valve cover off, oil squirting or what? Warm engine first? Seems like i read you loosen the rocker till oil squirts out then turn just till it stops-Any step by step ,saw Shoebox's site.-Any help please. Thanks Dwayne

ive adjusted that way and I don't think that adjusting till oil stops is the best way! I usually adjust till they stop ticking then add 1/4 turn. and as far as oil spraying I take and cut a piece of cardbard about 4-5" tall and adjust the width to set down into the bottom of the head while you have the valve cover off and it helps to keep oil from spitting out all over the headers.

You said you've been to my site. It says how to do it. The process listed is very short, because there is not much to it.

Yeah Shoebox, went there, I went ahead and took valve cover off, there was no oil squirting anywhere so i quess i dont have a problem--but if their to tight-- What i had heard and kinda wanted a step by step was: To warm up motor, loosen a rocker back it off till it clatters tighten after it stops clattering about a quarter turn--tighten again. Is that basically it?? Never done it before, so thats why i was wanting to make sure i understood--Thanks
