Adjusting rockers...!!!!!!

Having trouble getting these things set up right...

I adjusted them with the car off... and did the TDC method on Shoebox's website... but when I turned the crank and popped back from underneath the car... I noticed that the puchrods had fallen... which they should have, but the rockers did not follow them... and I could easily lift a rocker up and move it about... obviously I did something wrong.... but stumped... now.... these were on tight before I turned the crank over...

Make sure you back the small center hex head set screw all the way out before you try to spin the larger outer lock down to set the preload/lash.

Yup. Make sure you are only adjusting the correct 8 at a time though. Then crank it 360 degrees and do the other 8.

...and make sure you know whether you are at #1 TDC or #6 TDC so you know which 8 you can adjust.

Re: Adjusting rockers...!!!!!!

Cool..

last but not least let me get this...

I got up early this morning and re did eveything the "right" way... this time...

I rotated the CRank every 90 and checked the location of the pushrods and rockers... and made sure they were on there tight... Now a little movement back and forth is okay right? and up and down is bad? according to the positioiong of the valves some ofthe rockers move side to side.. but they don't move up and down at all.. so they are on there... is this okay?

thanks..

Re: Adjusting rockers...!!!!!!

There is 2 ways to adjust valves to me 1 is with a compression guasge 2 is by lettin the pushrod on one of the valves push it all the way open, when u have one of the valves all the way open adjust the other side because it will be completely shut. with a compression guage adjust untill you have the highest #, but you can only do it if it is in the car where u can spin it.
