adjusting the IAC...

is there a guide out there? all i found in searches was reseting it through starting the car and holding the throttle..

when i put the new IAC in the spring was in a little bit more than the old one..should I have pulled it to the same length? is there a adjustment screw? I am still fighting the no idle issue and I think that has to be it.

any help would be appreciated thank you.

Re: adjusting the IAC...

AFAIK, the IAC is controlled by the computer and can't be adjusted. From what I understand, the PCM moves the plunger in and out to control the amount of air bypassing the throttle body to the manifold and therefore controlling the idle speed. Maybe replacing the sensor would be a better option?

Re: adjusting the IAC...

ok before we get off on something else is wrong rant..here are things I have checked or replaced...

plugs
wires
opti
ICM TPS MAP
MAF
no vacuum leaks that I can find.
i even replaced the ECM..
it will run with holding the throttle but still will go up and down a little ..maybe 100 or 200 rpms with a steady throttle..
such as holding it at 3000 it will fluctuate between 2900 and 3100...

ok..ideas?

Re: adjusting the IAC...

I misread your original post, sorry. Check your fuel pressure to make sure it is steady. Is it a steady, harmonic variation, or is it random?
