Adjustable throttle position sensor

Is there an aftermarket throttle positon sensor that has slots already cut into it, or more room to move then the stock one? Thought I also saw a throttle postion sensor for an lt1 that was for nitrous that had a wot switch built in.

Thanks,
Nick

Re: Adjustable throttle position sensor

You can slot the stock TPS yourself, its not too hard of a mod.

Maybe try here for the n20 TPS.

Re: Adjustable throttle position sensor

Yeah I know it's not that hard, I was just looking for something already done. I actually did notch my stock one, just seems like there isnt enough room to really make that much of a difference. My problem is obviously I have an aftermarket throttle body and when I put my cc306 in and had my tune done from pcm for less, My idle was too low, to the point where it stalls. I have turned the screw out on the throttle body, but it takes alot of turning the screw out to get it to idle. I believe by doing this it has caused my car to develope a surge when in drive at a light.

Thanks for the help,
Nick

Re: Adjustable throttle position sensor

Have you scanned anything? You want to keep your TPS at under .9 volts and keep the IAC counts at about 30-35 warm. You can play with the idle set screw to a point, but like you noted can get into some problems if you go too far.

One solution is to knotch the TPS and turn it as you were thinking. Another option is to drill a small hole in the TB blades to allow some extra air through. Whatever you choose, you really need to be able to monitor the ECM first.

By surge do you mean RPM's going up and down while stopped? If thats the case, it is almost for sure your idle set screw holding the blade open too far. Close the blade a little and let the IAC fluctuate. It could be bottomed out at 0

Good luck!

Well you may want to check and see if the IAC bypass air passage is drilled in the throttle body. There should be a small hole to allow idle air to pass through the throttle body. On my BBK 58mm, the hole was not drilled and I had to drill it myself. I would look for this, I would not drill holes in the blades. The IAC passage was also machined out on the backside of throttle body, making the IAC basically useless. I had to machine a block to fill in the gad so the IAC would be functional.

I have never heard of this passage idea, this makes me think because ever since I bought this throttle body, the car hasnt idled right. Could you or anyone else post a pic or something for what to look for?

Thanks, for the help guys

What did pcm for less set your idle at? Why not have them raise it. I have a 93 as well and a Holley with a slotted TPS and a bigger cam with no problems I had my tuner change it a couple times to get it correct.
