Adding a turbo?
Just curious here, but if you put a big chamber set of AFRs on a stock lt1 bottom end, would you be set for boost, or are the ringlands still the weaklink?
who knows, maybe the larger cc cant make a big enough difference in CR

Alright well i guess im new to the american muscle group. I right now own a celica gts and i've modified it some but it still seems so slow compared to others. So i was thinking of selling it for around $11k and buying a $7000 '96 camaro and use some of the left over money to make it fast.
I wanna run around 12's cause my celica runs 15s in the 1/4 mile but what parts should i expect to replace that break from so much power? Do u think the car is gonna start falling apart? How much extra hp should a 6psi turbo make?

Welcome to the board.
I'll have to agree with 1fast95Z with this. Considering that you don't have a lot of knowledge with this powerplant, the last thing you want to do is blow it up. Don't get me wrong, turbos are the way to go. That's the direction I'd be headed if there was a 50 state smog-legal kit. For those that can legally install a turbo kit on their car 9I think everybody who doean't live in CA), it's best to do so after you've built up the bottm end to handle a good amount of boost.
You can easily get into the 11s with a heads/cam car, and it will live MUCH longer. Also, since you may have more import-driving friends (this is just an assumption), I'd bet they'd be more impressed with your car that goes 11's in the quarter with no power adder than if you had a turbo.
Ask A LOT of questions before you choose any components; it'll save you a lot of money and time. This board is a wealth of information with very knowledgable people. I would just suggest using the search funtion with a question you may have first, as there has probably been a lot of discussions about your topic already.

Its only a matter of times til a stock Lt1 will sacumb to constant forced induction...you'd have to upgrade the bttm end to handle the turbo...You can get heads and cam from any of the sponcers here...www.racenet.net www.tbyrne.com etc
