Adding Muffler: Flowmaster or Dynamax??

ok, im getting either a Flowmaster 40 series 2 chamber muffler or 1 chamber racing muffler, OR a Dynamax Ultra Flo welded muffler.

i know they all flow good and ive personally had Flows on other vehicles of mine so i dont want to start a bashing war here.
if you dont like Flows, then just vote for Dyno's.

ive got SLP LM with gutted cats right now and want a muffler to "clean up" the sound a little. i still want it to be fairly loud and dont mind interior resonance(sp), just want to get rid of that tractor-ish sound at part throttle or OD. the louder the better

so, WERE TALKING STRICTLY SOUND. which do you like better?

Flowmaster is deep... I've had it on two cars now. I don't know much about dynomax.

Dynomax out of those two, I'll keep my flowmaster comments to myself. I like my Borla XR-1 though.

I would go with the Dynomax Bullet! Either one should sound better than the FM.

I have Dynomax and it sounds terrible. Flowmaster doesn't flow nearly as well but sounds better.

so you're talking about the 1 chamber race muffler? i know what the 40 series sounds like and i like that ok, but im wondering what the difference is in the 40 and the 1 chamber.

are the Dynomax Ultra Flo WELDED mufflers (the ones that look like actual mufflers) straight through too, or do they have some baffles or "chambers"?

unless i can get some more info on the Dyno's, right now i think its between the 40 Flow or 1 chamber...

Man everyone has FM's. I had them on my car and got tired of it sounding like everyone else's car. The bullets sound bad on a camaro.

You can see right through them. I have a 3" Ultraflow.

Ultraflow. I actually don't think it sounds bad but there's no sound at all. Feeling the vibration and speed of the car is odd without the growl. I just replaced all my gaskets and installed some Stage 8 bolts and it sounds better now (a few little leaks here and there before) but still not my favorite exhaust. A lot more torque than when my cutout is open. I preferred the Flowmaster for sound but like others have sound it's not unique. If you wanna be unique get a Gale Banks, Corsa or Borla.
