Accel injectors

I can get a set with about 20min of run time on them for $125 they are 30lb. Is it worth doing with the mods i have? I do plan on going with a bigger cam and maybe different heads this winter. Thanks in advance

Re: Accel injectors

Do a search on here about Accel Injectors. I would never get a set of them as well as many others will agree. They tend to have alot of problems.

Re: Accel injectors

After what I've seen on this board, I'd chip in the extra c-note and get some SVO's or check out www.racetronix.com and only spend the $ once.

Re: Accel injectors

My experience with them was that they made good power but their dynamic range is limited so I hear, and that may be why they idled so rich all of the time. Bryan Herter of PCMFORLESS.com won't even tune a car that has them installed. They may work ok on a 383. I went to the lucas/delphi disk type 32 lb. ones and everything is super-dee-duper again.

Re: Accel injectors

Thats not true, we will tune cars with accel injectors.

We don't LIKE to tune them with accel injectors. We reccommend other makes. I've heard from several guys that fastchips will not tune Accel injectors.

Re: Accel injectors

I'm sorry about that misinformation. I suppose I should have checked that rumor out before I said anything. I have programs from both Byran and Ion and they work great with my new injectors.

Re: Accel injectors

30# SVO's are cheaper than Accel anyway.

Re: Accel injectors

The b-body guys have also found the Accels to be a lot of trouble. I know of only one tuner that likes them and well not many people like that tuner(based out of Chicago and not Ion). I tried them at one point because nobody had the SVOs in the size I needed in the timeframe I needed and the car cranked long and was difficult to tune.

Re: Accel injectors

Well, I satisfied after seeing that movie on Accel fuel injectors that I won't be putting any of the jewels in my car.

I need new injectors but I'll be choosing something besides Accel.

That's just terrible. Wonder if it damage the engine in that car?

I would be fit to be tied.

I appreiciate you warning us!

Thanks Lee!
