My car will sometimes studder at idle, and often while driving or accelerating the RPM drop and it feels as if I hit the brakes. Is this my Accel ignition 300+ going out or is it possibly another problem? Is there a way to bypass the ignition system to check?

You should just be able to unplug the 300+ and plug the stock wiring back into the coil. That should effectively bypass the aftermarket ignition. Oh, and unplug the ignition too.
