accel 375+ ?

when useing an accell 375+ together with a 300+ will the revlimiter set on the 375 over ride the limiter on the 300? example if the setting using the switches and dials on the 300+ box is set at 6800 and the limiter on the 375 is set at 7000 wich rpm will the revlimiter come on at? 6800 or 7000?

Re: accel 375+ ?

If you pull the end off your 300+ you'll notice some switches... I forget which switch it is, but one of them tells it to use the 375+ controller's setting...

However, from my experience, this did not cancel out the setting of the 300+ box... therefore I had to set my 300 limiter to like 8k or the "unlimited" setting, and then use the 375+ to control it...

if you don't flip the "override" switch in the 300+, it won't matter what the 375+ controller setting is, the 300 will ignore it...

Examples...

A)

300+ limiter set to 4000
375+ limiter set to 5000
300+ "override" switch OFF

car will be limited at 4000rpms...

B)

300+ limiter set to 4000
375+ limiter set to 5000
300+ "override" switch ON

car will still be limited at 4000rpms...

C)

300+ limiter set to 4500
375+ limiter set to 3000
300+ "override" switch OFF

car will be limited at 4500rpms...

D)

300+ limiter set to 4500
375+ limiter set to 3000
300+ "override" switch ON

car will be limited at 3000rpms...

The best bet is to just set the 300 box as a "secondary" limiter, say 7000-7500, flip the override "ON" and then use the 375 to set it somewhere in the 6000-7000 range wherever you want it...

Hope this helps...

Re: accel 375+ ?

I think it may be switch number 4...

i believe it has to be "UP", but i can't say for sure...

and you are correct, the 300 box limiter will ALWAYS be in effect, at least that was my experience, the 375+ limit will have to be lower than the one in the 300+...

hence setting the 300 really high, and using the 375+'s limiter...

Re: accel 375+ ?

I have been using the the 300+ 375+ combo for a few years but i was using the pmc revlimiter. My 300 box died the other day It had been on the car for may years so i guess it just lived out it life. since i but a new box in was going to used it to set the revlimiter. I think it is a great combo for what you get compared to any of the other brands.

Re: accel 375+ ?

You were using the PCM limiter with N20???

Not sure which vehicle you are using the accel on or if it has nitrous, but the pcm limiter is a huge no no when running nitrous...

The pcm cuts fuel only, so if you are running a shot of nitrous, and it hits the PCM limiter, it'll pull fuel and you'll get a super lean condition that's burnin hot which can melt the pistons...

The Accel limiter on both the 300+ and the 375+ pull spark only... that way if you hit the limiter during a shot of nitrous, it'll just cut spark and the fuel and nitrous will just flow out of the exhaust harmlessly...

You may already know this and were just living dangerously but I just thought I'd mention it in case...

and you are right, the bang for the buck is second to none when you consider all of the features that combo gives you... especially with the digital control as opposed to a dial...

Re: accel 375+ ?

i am using the 375+ window switch for the nitorus and the window closes before the the revlimiter. so if I do bump the revlimiter the nitrous is already turned off.

Re: accel 375+ ?

oh ok... just makin sure...

some people, (like myself) used to run the nitrous right through the shifts... so if my tranny broke loose or anything I was already on the redline bubble spraying... didn't wanna chance it...
