Accel 26lb Fuel injectors any Good?

Summit has a set of 8 for $260. Are they any good...also, is there another source where I can get a set of 26lb injectors for my '97 LT1 for a good price?

Stay away from Accel injectors.

Get 24# or 30# Ford SVO injectors. The 24#ers actually flow about 25.3 on our pressure. You can also get these cheaper than 260.

Hey Ion, it's a pleasure to hear from such a "legend" in the LT1 performance arena. Do you have a reason why Accel is not any good? Also, I tried searching for Ford SVO injectors, but couldn't come up with an accurate find. If you can lead me to a source, that would be appreciated.

Hardly a legend , but here is a link to the injectors you want. Summit also sells these.

Accel injectors are just not very consistent in my experience, they don't respond very well to tuning and some people have lost engine due to some of them getting stuck open.

Looked at the site and noticed the Ebay item was for the 30lb injector set. I gather that you were reffering to the "Additional Items" section where they have Bosch 24lb injectors shown? Just want to make sure I'm going after the right part. Also, are they 100% swappable with my stock Delco injectors...no special o-rings or gaskets required? I'm sure that the folks I order from will say that these are for Mustangs and Fords...not Chevy's.

Thanks for helping!

Honestly, I would get 30#'s even on a stock bolt on motor.. I had the red-tops (30#'s) in my 383 and even at 110% duty cycle on the dyno, it was pig *** rich, so I know they can support quite a bit..

P.S. This was the dyno that happened just before Ion was able to get a tune to me.. After I got his tune, I was seeing like 80%DC on my 383 @ 6500rpms.

Your the man Ion!

Yea, but I've read many posts stating that 30lb'ers are way too much for a stock tune causing an overly rich condition which will eventually foul the plugs and destroy the expensive O2 sensors. Don't want to risk all that.
I get varying reports that the stock injectors for the '97 were either 24 or 26 lb ones.

You can use a larger injector on a stock car. You just have to let the computer know what your running.

If you have different injectors you need a tune, it's not optional.

Racetronix has a lot of injectors for sale. I have never used them, nor have I known anyone that used injectors for them, but I found some pretty large injectors for under $300 a set.

I have Racetronix injector and I'm very happy with them. The price was great on top of that.

Here's what I ordered....

http://www.gefracing.com/Merchant2/m..._Code=50INTAKE

Just so I wouldn't buy from a Ford site, Summit matched the price. Summit was selling the exact same model for $219.

A lot of others I've asked did say that these Ford injectors were one of the best for the LT1. Go figure! LOL

They are Bosch injectors... Ford markets them!
