AC compressor install

I installed an lt1 in a 69 camaro. It came from a 94 Roadmaster. Did not plan to have AC then but do now. accessory drive came from 94. Putting compressor on appears to be a problem because of crossmember. Is there any body out there that has done this successfully?

Re: AC compressor install

Are you using the accessory bracket from the B-Body? If so, have you checked the F-Body or Y-Body brackets to see if one of them might work better?

Re: AC compressor install

There is some good information midway down this page from Nook and Tranny. The F and B bodies use the same configuration. The Y body moves everything up and to the driver's side. That would probably solve your frame conflict issues.
