abs light

abs light

everysince i bought my 96 formy the abs light has been on. i found out that a couple lights were burnt out and replaced them but the light is still on. i can get it to go off if i pump the break before i start it anyone have any idea what might be causing this any help is appreciated

You can try the grounding point on the passenger side shock tower. A bad ground will cause the ABS light to come on. If it is an actual braking problem, then it obviously won't help.

Believe it or not ,the abs light is connected to the brake light system in at least my car.I must use the EXACT REPLACEMENT BULBS called for in the owners manual.Check your third brake light bulbs for this as well.What really fixed my abs light on the dash(Short of putting black electrical tape over the light as to not see it anymore),was to replace all the yellow fuses on the drivers side of the dash.Even if they look good,they can be toast.Hope this helps.(No abs light for almost three years now).And no electrical tape there as well.My02
