About to replace opti, Questions???
Re: About to replace opti, Questions???
If you are going through all the trouble to pull it off and do it yourself I would highly recommend replacing the entire unit. Do a search but I believe a complete unit can be purchased for under $250.
Re: About to replace opti, Questions???
Believe me if you are doing it buy an entire unit it's far less hassle for all the work you are about to go through. As far as anything else needed...coolant,water pump gaskets,o-rings for the opti spline(if u buy an entire unit it will include these), and watch taking the water pump off there is a splined shaft that connects it to the cam and that has o-rings as well sometimes the are flat and will leak oil it not replaced, and you might want to get thread and gasket sealant. Hopefully this helps.
Re: About to replace opti, Questions???
autozone sells the whole unit for 129.99 im not kidding, and then you get an 85 dollar core charge on top of that thats like getting a rebuilt opti for 45 dollars, http://autozone.com/servlet/UiBroker?UseCase=C001&UserAction=performOemResultS et&Parameters=DISTRIBUTOR|~1104032|~1 here is the link. good luck

You'll need water pump gaskets and some coolant.
