? about the lt1 electric fans dual vs single

I have the dual electric fans on my 94 z28. recently the car fell off the jack and took out one of the fans. I'm having a hard time finding another replacement for a good price. I ran across someone who has a single electric fan set-up for a really good price. Does the single one work better then the dual's since it's bigger and what's everything that I would have to change to run this. Cause there is 2 harness clips going to my current set-up. I guess the single fans were in cars with out the a/c option - Mike

Better to use the dual fan setup, IMHO.

Yes I feel the same way. That way if it needs slight cooling it can run just one fan, and as it needs more it can kick in the second one. I've seen them both run at full speed and it moves quite a bit more air I think than a single fan I've ever seen.

Did it take out the housing or the motor for the fan? I got a new fan motor at Orielly's for $40.00. Do you live near a Pic-a-part or a junk yard? Some times places like that have the $40.00 milk crate special, which is anything you can carry out in or on a milk crate for $40.00! I've left with a milk crate full of parts before, some which looked almost brand new!

The whole housing is still good. It just took out that bracket that the fan is attached to. The fan itself is good but that bracket is what holds the fan in place. I called everywhere and no one has this part. They want over 100.00 for the whole piece.
