About to install new OEM lifters...tips?
Clean the shipping/protective coating off first and then soak them in oil. You can also use a oil squirt can to oil them through the oil hole.
Comp has a great website with instructions:

I just replied to your PM about this....
here is a picture of how the lifter sits on the cam. I just drew it up so excuse the crudeness of the drawing but gives you a good idea of what i looks like in section view....

With the lifter guides that keep the lifter roller oriented properly to the cam, there is no real way to install them wrong. The oil hole can go either way.

Thanks for the drawing...very cool! Ive done some asking around and have heard that taking the bolts off the intake isn't that bad, its disconnecting everything that is attached to it thats time consuming...
Any more tips?

WHen you remove all the bolts (and several of them are different) use an inverted shoe box or something similar to insert each bolt in the same pattern/order as the are on the manifold. This will ensure the correct placement upon reinstallation.
Don97SS, good suggestion, and exactly what I did.
As for the lifters, they come sprayed with oil to prevent rusting. (my Comp Rs did). I took parts cleaner and cleaned each one quickly, then let them sit for a few hours covered in synthetic motor oil.
Install them with the oiling holes ALL facing one direction.
You will get gunk in your lifter valley from the intake removal, make sure you vacuum or clean out the valley very well. Also remember to stuff rags into the ports for the heads.
OEM lifters are more expensive than Comp Rs, and Comp Rs are 20 more than Comp OEM replacement lifters..... just a note.
