Question A4 tranny bounces off rev limiter before it shifts after programming?

I just had Bryan at PCMforless reprogram my computer for the XE 224/230. Car runs great, but the tranny hits the revlimiter pretty much everytime on the 2-3 shift (WOT) and occasionally on the 1-2 shift (WOT). Did he program the tranny to shift to close the revlimiter or does this mean the tranny is going? The tranny shifts fine under normal acceleration by the way. Would programming the tranny to shift earlier aleviate this problem?

I have the same problem wiht my Lt1 I did reprogram to shift at 6200( think so)

my tranny was rebuild about 2 months ago,I took it to the track and the first 2 runs the tranny shifted ok from 2-3 but on the 3 run it started to do the same thing

know they will check it on tuesday, he told me that the clutch wasn't working properly from 2 to 3rd(A/4)

Same thing with mine...sent it to be reprogrammed by Bryan, and now it hits the rev limiter on the 2-3 and sometimes the 1-2 at WOT.

Very annoying....thats why I'm going to LT1_edit.

How many miles are on your tranny? Also, when was the last time you changed your tranny fluid (not just replaced teh filter and a coupke of qts)? Mine did the same thing after my cam install. It turned out to be burnt tranny fluid, wgich ended up costing me a rebuild. I knew it was coming, as the car had 85k and I wanted a TQ conv anyway. You can ask Bryan about it. I did and he lowered the shift points, but I'm pretty sure it will be a matter of time before you doing a rebuild. Good luck,

Kyle

My tranny blew at 48k thanks to the 224/230 ... that cam pulls like a ****!

I had the EXACT same problems... at US 41 the thing just couldn't and wouldn't shift into 3rd at wide open... I had to let off the throttle a little or else it would bounce off the rev limiter.

My tranny blew less than a month after that trip to the track... get some backup transportation ready... and start shopping around for a T56 or TH-400

You need to lower your MPH in your program. Both a preset MPH and RPM need to be met for the tranny to shift.

oh boy...looks like I may need a tranny REAL soon then. I'm about finished installing the XE236/242 and goodies on a 120k tranny.
I was hoping if I went easy, I could wait a while....but, who knows.

hey alexsz, i had the EXACT same problem with mine. My 2-3 under WOT will NOT shift either. Bryan was in the car with me when i was telling him about it and he was like WHOA..thats the worst one ive ever seen. He tried to fix it but he couldnt do anything for me, it was just rebuilt one week before that and they cant find the problem either. They even put 8 clutches in there and got it down to like 22,000th's of clearance. They think there might be a hairline fracture in it but cannot find it. You could try and have the EPC turn up to see if it fixes it maybe. I need a new one but i cant afford it right now. you can try LT1DAVE.COM and see if he can fix you up. good luck and i know the feeling of it. I was in a race the other day and was killing the guy till my 2-3 came into play... and there that went lol

I think that tuning has got to come into play here. I, like many others, were not having a problem until after a tune so I find it hard to believe, although not impossible, that the tranny would simply decide to go in each of these cases. Because I don't have access to LT1 edit, I'm sending my PCM back to Bryan to have to shift point lowered a little. Hopefully that'll solve the probelm cause it sucks when it bogs you down like that.
