there has never been an answer for this question yet. Just alot of argument. Pick which everone "YOU" like the best.

I went with A4 because that is what I wanted to drag race with. I have a M6 in my Camaro and I like it too for back road driving, makes it a lot more fun.

if your going to be doing mostly street driving, i would go for the m6. If you are looking for a consistent bracket race car or a track car go for the a4. I get bored driving an auto, so it was an obvious choice for me

M6 cause its fun to drive, i use mine as daily driver, many people on the boards have trouble with their A4's always rebuilding the tranny and stuff!

anyhow, gas mileage could be a bit better leaving the car in high gear on a M6.

Going by your wants, I would say M6.

They are a blast to drive, and still do very well at the track. They are faster in general than the A4 from a roll due to less drivetrain loss. The A4 helps get consistant launches.

Gas milage is better with the M6 as well, and the transmissions are more durable than the A4.

A4 it'll give you consistent launches. Also don't have to worry about shifting the damn thing all the time while your crusin the streets. I think that autos shift great if you ask me

Autos are just plain better for dragracing.I bracket race my car every weekend in Mod ET.If I had a M6 it would be a waste of time racing in that class

If you just want it for fun to drive then get the M6

You cant beat a stick!

My car does great at the track with consistant 1.9-2.2 60's on street tires. I go probably once a month just for fun.

But if you want bracket racing go auto.

auto may be better for consistency and 1/4 mile ET, but the M6 has less drivetrain loss and just puts more power to the ground.
Which is nice for highway driving and roll racing if thats your thing.

If I have to spend some time in stop and go traffic - it makes me wish I had an auto.
Would be good for the track too, easier to get consistant numbers.

I love driving a manual though.
