99+ Fbody Gas Tank

I heard that those tanks are lighter (plastic) would it be a good idea to swap and would it fit right in?

I don't know if they are any lighter, but I believe they have a higher capacity than the 93-97 models do (17+ gallons, IIRC)

Any advatanges in swaping the tank. For 2 or 3 extra gallons i would swap and if it would be ligther than the stock one (empty dry weight) i might also consider it.

Re: 99+ Fbody Gas Tank

my 01 manual says it holds 16.5 gallons. I'm sure the plastic one is lighter, but can't be that much less, so not sure ifits worth the wap unless you already have to go in there. The other advantage is they won't ever rust out and leave a hole
