OK here is the story I got into the car about a week ago tried to start it and all it did was turn over but it wouldent start.I turned the key off then turned it right before the start possision all of the dash lights came on except for the ses light after 2 seconds all lights go out except for the check gages light. My first thought was that I got the pcm wet whyal washing the car and motor so I ordered one from madz28.com and it stell dosent startSence I am not geting spark or fule I start thinking my key is bad so I go git a new one from GM and it still dosent start .I have checked all fuses and they are all good.Also when the car did start I turned the key right befor the start possision then back off I would hear a buzz from under the hood on the drivers side but now their is no buzz sound and the car will not start it just cranks.please help I am out of ideas.

Is the car cranking? If it is cranking and it won't start, then I bet you either popped an ignition fuse or fried the Opti Spark, assuming you have one (you didn't say what year your car is). Don't wash under the hood with a power washer or a hose, there is no need.

 

Ya I figered when I posted it that it was the wrong forum.The car is a 1996 Z28 and it dose have a opti spark but its the vented one so I do not think a little water would hert it. I started the car after cleaning it and let it idle for a whyal then turned it off.Came back the next day and it wouldent start but it cranks and the fuel pump dosent come on and I have no spark.I think I am going to have to take it to the chevy dealer and get screwed.

 

Why take the car to the dealer? I've read a bunch of threads regarding problems like this. Use the search function up at the top of the page and do a keyword search under the lt1/lt4 forum.

Did you check all of your fuses? Especially the IGNITION fuse. It doesn't matter if the opti is vented or not, a little water can ruin it. The vented part of the opti is just supposed to remove built up moisture from normal operation, not remove ounces of water from spraying it off. Just do a search and learn what you can from "no spark, no fuel, no start" threads. I'm pretty sure that when the opti goes, it can cut fuel and spark, but so can that fuse.

 

I have tried everyting I have searched and searched for two days.I have changed my ignition, bought a ney key from GM , checked all fuses and changed the fuel pump relay.Dose any one have any other ideas.The car cranks but dosent start, the fuel pump dosen't turn on unless I prime it with a hot wire,the air pump is also not turning on and I have no spark, also dose any one know what makes the ses light go on when the key is first turned;because prior to trying to start my car the SES light never goes on .I have also had two of my budies check the car out and they were stumped.Thanks

 

If the ICM is bad will it cause the PCM to cut the fuel?
