96 SS wheels on a 94... problem

Hi, I just purchased a set of 96 17x9 SS wheels to put on my 94 Z28. However, the rears do not fit on because the wheels seem to be tapered on the inside. How do I go about fixing this?

Thanks,
Steve

They will fit. Try jacking the car up by the axle. Once they go on the bump stop will almost tuck in the wheel.

I had to get inside of my wheels cut down with a dremel type tool used at the wheel shops to get mine to fit. Good Luck

You need to relieve the inside of the wheel hub as previously stated. It happens to everyone that puts late model wheels on an earlier model car. The axle hub is larger on earlier model cars.

Yeah when I bought my Chrome ZR1s off a 99SS I had to used a grinding bit in a drill to cut down the inside for the rear. You don't have to remove much to make them go on. However, don't try to force them on a little bit then use the lugs to pull them on I hear that can cause some major problems, and could be a PITA to get the rim off if you ever have a flat
