95 z28 auto tranny problems

Hey everyone been awhile since i posted here but. I moved to florida to go to college, and i met a couple ppl down here one being my friends g/f, who has a 95 z28 with an automatic that needs to be rebuilt very badly, i wanted to know if she bought a rebuild kit how hard it would be to rebuild it myself, and how much the rebuild kit would cost, she cant afford to get it done professinally, so im gonna do it for her, ive never rebuilt a tranny before but hers is horrible, it slips every gear and is impossible to drive faster than 65 mph

Thanks in advance
Raven

You better buy one of those books that has pictures of how to rebuild it. I've rebuilt one, it's pretty easy, but you don't want to forget even the smallest spring. That and don't let dirt get in it whlie you build it.

Ummm, I'd look online somewhere for that book or at a bookstore like Barnes and Nobles. When I rebuilt one it was at my Auto Tech class in high school. That book was very detailed, showed every step in depth. I think it took me around 3-4 hours to rebuild, but then again it was my first time ever doing one so it could take either more or less for you to do it.
