95 timing chain kit
95 timing chain kit
i have a 95 lt1 in a firebird formula i am going to be building the engine and body had this car given to me from work 200.00 want to start out with the exhaust and i just had to take the opty off and clean the reluctor wheel. It had oil caked on it, want to do the timing chain kit. some of the aftermarket timing chain kits say you may have to grind cover and block. just wondering if anyone has installed and not had to modify the components. i am using the opty spark. i may use the stock timing componets and any info on good exhaust and piping. going to be making the engine for low end torque street rod. please send any of your modifications you have done to your cars. Havent found alot of forums on the lt1. hope to hear from you guys.
thanks!

Re: 95 timing chain kit
First of all, check out www.pbfbody.com we're a local f-body crew in South Florida, a good group of us are in north palm beach county (i'm in jupiter) and also a few in stuart..
For the LT4 extreme duty set there is no need to grind on the timing cover. For a double roller such as the cloyes or comp, you will need to clearance the timing cover properly.
