95 specific opti harness question
95 specific opti harness question
It might not be 100% 95 specific but it very well could be. I just remade my opti harness and it looks awesome! I am going to post pics tonight when my camera is charged. I had to take the pins out to shrink tube it and I rememebrd to mark them after taking the third one out. I am pretty sure I got it back 100% but to be 100% sure I am asking. I wrote down the colors that correspond to the letters on the gray connector that rests atop the intake manifold.
Here they are:
A-RED
B-Red/Black
C-Brown/yellow
D-Orange/Black
Are these right? I bet shoebox has a picture of it somewhere and I just could not find it. I know that the colors listed for the 95 pcm on the shobox site has totally different color combos then mine. I have a late 95 maybe it is the same as 96? I am not sure but I need to make sure I know. Maybe somone with a 95 could go look on top of their engine where the gray connector plugs in to see the wire colors for me??? I am about to head to the store to pick up some bolts for my puller and my ewp housing bolts. Thanks guys, Kurt

ok I checked the wiring diagram and as long as the diagram is 100% accurate in the sense that the abcd of the lower portion of the harness is backwards consistantly to how the plug actually plugs on to the car then it would be right. the clip faces in for the opti and the abcd would be if the clip was facing out. Get what I am saying? The wiring diagram makes sense but if you are relying on plug oriention to determine if the pinout is right then it is backwards...

yes because it tells you abcd and the one pin i know is 100% correct is D which would be A from the picture. Flip the bottom connector (the one that touches opti ) in the picture and the orientiation is correct. Lets put it this way the pin that is on the farthest inside position on the opti is D on the connector in real life Not A if you keep the oriention right. I know for a fact because I marked the last pin before I took it off.

can somone look at their harness? You dont get what I am saying. I never moved the fourth pin which would have been D and it perfectly matches up to A in the picture. The picture is wrong. A does not match to A etc. The opti side of the harness would have to be flipped over to have the orientation of the plug have A on the inside and D on the outside when in reality D is on the inside.
Could somone just take a picture of the gray connector attached to the car still with the wires showing so it is easy to see which opti harness wires match up with the wire harness so there is no question about it at all.. I wish I knew somone with the same car as me...

I don't know if the wiring schematic is showing the terminals on the opti, itself or on the harness connector. It is a bit misleading.
